Neymar told to cool it

- By Adam Crafton

BRAZIL manager Tite has warned Neymar to keep his temper in check if he wants to lead his country to World Cup glory in Russia next summer.

Neymar scored a penalty and dazzled as Brazil beat Japan 3-1 on Friday in Lille but was also cautioned.

In October, he was sent off for Paris Saint-Germain during the club’s 2-2 draw at Marseille.

Opponents will be noting that the world’s most expensive player has a fuse that may be ignited as the pressure grows at both club and national level in 2018.

Ahead of the trip to face England at Wembley on Tuesday evening, Tite argued that defenders try to kick his stars out of the game but nonetheless urged Neymar to keep cool.

Tite said: ‘When we talk about players like him, Willian, Coutinho, Gabriel Jesus, they are really fast and this is how the defenders stop them.

‘He [Neymar] has some mistakes with his reactions and he knows that this is wrong. I will talk about just the last red card he got. He had a tackle and another one seconds later. Everyone is trying to stop him with fouls and he cannot react to this.

‘We have to treat everybody as equals, the treatment is the same for everybody. We are all exposed here, players, the coach. We are in the Brazil national team so we have to get used to this exposure.’
