‘Severe pain’ forces Gaga to cancel tour

- By Chris Hastings

A ‘DEVASTATED’ Lady Gaga has been forced to cut short the UK leg of her world tour because of ‘severe pain’.

The US star, who was due to perform at the O2 Arena in London tonight, has cancelled three shows in the capital and Manchester.

The 31-year-old pop singer, who earned mixed reviews for her show in Birmingham last week, has also pulled out of seven European dates.

Fans who have bought tickets for The Joanne World Tour will get a full refund. Lady Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – suffers from fibromyalgia, a long-term condition which can cause pain all over the body.

The Grammy-award-winning singer told her 76.6 million Twitter followers: ‘I’m so devastated – I don’t know how to describe it.

‘All I know is that if I didn’t do this, I am not standing by the words or meaning of my music.

‘My medical team is supporting the decision for me to recover at home.’ However her fans – who are known as ‘Little Monsters’ – were divided about the decision to cancel.

One wrote: ‘I didn’t expect the cancellation of Lady Gaga’s concert in London would hurt me so hard. I feel like crying.’

Another pointed out the singer had managed to complete the US leg of the tour and Birmingham gig, which was filmed.

But another tweeted ‘I know that some Monsters are super angry. But they have to understand that Lady Gaga is actually very sick.’
