Me too, says Lily as she reveals sex harassment

POP STAR Lily Allen has revealed she has been sexually harassed – and indicated she is taking action against her tormentor.

Speaking in a podcast and referring to t he Harvey Weinstein s candal, she said: ‘I’ve been harassed. I can’t talk too much for legal reasons but I’m in the process of dealing with something.’

The singer – who has been signed to several top record labels since her first hit Smile was released back in 2006 – revealed: ‘What I’ve found quite interestin­g is people suggesting that there’s something to be gained from wanti ng to t alk about t hese things. Actually I think all that most women want is to just offload it.

‘To be, like, “You know, I don’t want to carry this around with me any more.” It doesn’t go away.

‘Suddenly, finally, I feel like I can get this a*******’s name out of my mouth and out of my head. I don’t want money. If it was about that then I would sue in the civil courts and would attach a non-disclosure agreement to it. That’s not what I want.’ She did not reveal whether she has made a complaint to police or taken other action. Lily, 32, i s signed to the Warner Bros label, and will release her fourth album, No Shame, in June. She is separated from her builder husband Sam Cooper, father of her two children, and is now dating rapper and MC Meridian Dan. In 2016 she hired a woman, Sarah Gates of IE Music, to be her manager. Sarah will oversee Lily’s internatio­nal tour, which starts in Paris tomorrow. Last night Lily’s representa­tive would not elaborate or comment further on her revelation, made to radio presenter James O’Brien on his Unfiltered podcast.
