BLACKBURN strengthen­ed their promotion push after Danny Graham’s header on his 100th appearance for the club secured victory over Southend. Graham’s 16th this season earned the leaders their fourth straight win, and moves them four points clear of third-place Shrewsbury. Rovers boss Tony Mowbray said: ‘It takes all sorts to try to get out of divisions and win promotions. You can have days when you’re scintillat­ing, on other days you have to show your character, drive and desire to win matches.’

FLEETWOOD’S unbeaten seven-game run ended at Rotherham. Joe Newell and Richard Wood were on target for the home side after Nathan Pond’s own-goal.

WIGAN 5 MK DONS 1

WILL GRIGG fired a brilliant hat-trick to send Wigan back up to second place. Nick Powell was also on target and there was an own-goal by Ethan EbanksLand­ell. Callum Brittain scored MK Dons’ consolatio­n.

ROCHDALE 3 PORTSMOUTH 3

PORTSMOUTH came from behind three times to snatch a point in a thriller at Rochdale. Brett Pitman levelled twice and the third equaliser was a late own-goal by Matt Done.

PLYMOUTH 2 PETERBOROU­GH 1

GRAHAM CAREY tucked away a late penalty as Plymouth beat nine-man Peterborou­gh. Ryan Taylor had cancelled out Jack Marriott’s opener for the visitors, who had Liam Shephard and Steven Taylor sent off.

ADAM THOMPSON’S 89th-minute own-goal left bottom club Bury needing a miracle to stay up. Manager Ryan Lowe moaned: ‘That 100 per cent sums up our season.’

LEE NOVAK snatched a late equaliser for Scunthorpe after Will Nightingal­e had given the Wimbledon an early lead. And caretaker Scunthorpe boss Nick Daws admitted: ‘We’ve missed Lee. He brings experience.’

GILLINGHAM boss Steve Lovell said he felt sorry for spectators forced to endure a turgid game. He admitted: ‘I feel sorry for people watching the game. It was poor for both teams.’

NATHAN DELFOUNESO’S hat-trick helped Blackpool ease relegation fears. And manager Gary Bowyer insisted: ‘With his ability, he should be scoring more.’ Viv Solomon-Otabor and Sean Longstaff got the others.

OLDHAM boss Richie Wellens felt aggrieved his side were not awarded at least one penalty. ‘There were a couple of penalties in there. The second was clear-cut,’ he said.

INJURY-HIT Bristol Rovers produced a battling display to hold promotion-chasing Charlton. Kyle Bennett put them ahead, but Ben Reeves earned a point for Charlton. Rovers boss Darrell Clarke called it ‘a gritty point’.
