RELEGATED Bury gave their fans something to cheer about as they beat Portsmouth in their last home game of the season. George Miller’s goal sealed only an eighth win of the season. WIGAN 1 WIMBLEDON 1 WIGAN will have to wait another week to get their hands on the title after being held at home by struggling Wimbledon. The visitors shocked the home fans by taking the lead through Joe Pigott but Michael Jacobs levelled.

BLACKPOOL 1 SHREWSBURY 1

BLACKPOOL kept up their push for a top-half finish by coming from behind to claim a point. Shrewsbury, sure of third place, led through Sam Jones before Nathan Delfouneso equalised. WALSALL 1 NORTHAMPTO­N 0 GEORGE DOBSON’S stoppageti­me winner all but condemned Northampto­n to relegation – and left Walsall needing only a point to be sure of safety. Northampto­n caretaker manager Dean Austin admitted: ‘It’s very raw.’

GOALS from skipper John White and Marc-Antoine Fortune gave Southend a third win in eight days and ended Bradford’s four-match unbeaten run.

LEAGUE One top scorer Jack Marriott took his tally to 33 goals this season as Peterborou­gh ended a four-match losing run when enjoying a final home hurrah. George Cooper was also on target to see off Fleetwood.

SUB Elliot List snatched a stoppage-time equaliser to earn Gillingham a battling point. Rovers had looked set to win when Dom Telford put them in front four minutes from time. OXFORD 2 ROCHDALE 1 OXFORD came from behind with two second-half penalties to secure their survival. John Mousinho, with his first goal for the club, and Todd Kane scored from the spot after Bradden Inman had put Rochdale in front.

PLYMOUTH 2 ROTHERHAM 1

PLYMOUTH kept play-off hopes alive as they came from behind. Richie Towell put Rotherham in front but Joel Grant levelled before Graham Carey won it from the penalty spot.

RORY MCARDLE’S first goal for Scunthorpe set them on their way to a comfortabl­e win that consolidat­ed their play-off spot and confirmed MK Dons’ relegation. Ivan Toney doubled their lead.

OLDHAM face a nervous final day after a goalless draw left them only a point above the bottom four, but manager Richie Wellens insisted: ‘Our destiny is back in our hands thankfully.’
