Pogba team-mates rap fans

-

ANTOINE Griezmann and Corentin Tolisso have hit out at France fans who jeered Paul Pogba during the 3-1 win over Italy in Nice on Friday.

The Manchester United midfielder was whistled by the home crowd when he was substituted in the second half.

Pogba temporarily lost his United place at the end of the season before also being left on the bench in France’s 3-2 defeat by Colombia at the Stade de France in March. Tolisso said: ‘This kind of whistling is exasperating, it annoys me. Paul had a good game, he worked hard.

‘It hurts because I wouldn’t want to be whistled. We’re all on the same boat, and we have to all stick together.’

Griezmann said: ‘The whistles are part of football, you have to stay tough mentally. We’re all playing for the same shirt.’

France face the United States in their final friendly on Saturday, before taking on Australia in their Group C opener on June 16.

SPAIN boss Julen Lopetegui insists his team’s last two tournament flops have left no scars as the 2010 world champions continue their preparations with a friendly against Switzerland in Villarreal today. Lopetegui, who top succeeded Victor del Bosque after that shambles two years ago, said: ‘When I arrived that sense was already passing and there was excitement to keep going, to forget that tournament. We found a team in great health in every sense.’
