With three X-factor attackers, a top-half finish is a realistic target for Nuno’s boys

ANYONE worried that Wolves might not score enough goals, don’t be. From what I saw at Old Trafford, their front three is certainly good enough to do some damage in the Premier League this season.

Going to Old Trafford doesn’t have the same fear factor for teams these days and Helder Costa, Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota caused all sorts of problems for United’s back line.

Though they’ve only scored six goals in six games so far, I’ve seen enough to be confident that strike rate will improve in time. Their link-up play and rotation is excellent, and they get in good scoring positions. And Adama Traore is a threat from the bench because of his pace.

Promoted teams are usually happy with Premier League survival, but I don’t see Wolves have any sort of relegation concerns this season.

They are defensively organised, the two wing-backs play narrow and help the team stay solid, Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves work well in the middle, and they’ve got X-factor attackers.

Costa was impressive with his movement and showed great ability and composure in the build-up to the equaliser.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo (right) won’t get carried away. They ran out of steam a bit in the second half and at some stage he may have to rotate rather than keep the same team as he’s done so far. But a top-half finish looks a realistic target. It was great to see Sir Alex Ferguson back at Old Trafford looking so well. I only knew Sir Alex from various Liverpool-Manchester United clash es, until I met him at a charity function towards the end of my career and he was waiting for a taxi. He saw me and said: ‘I’m not sure I want to talk to you’, a reference to me scoring three win-ners at Old Trafford! I remember him eulogising about Steven Gerrard, telling me he was the only player he wanted but knew it would be impossible to sign. Welcome back Sir Alex.
