IDRIS KANU’S late goal earned Port Vale a point after Nicky Law had put Exeter in front, but Exeter boss Matt Taylor bemoaned the amount of injury time: ‘I’m not sure where you can get an extra two minutes when you put up five.’

NEWPORT 4 CAMBRIDGE 2

NEWPORT came from 2-0 down to win. Reggie Lambe scored twice for Cambridge, but Mickey Demetriou’s penalty, Padraig Amond and Jamille Matt (2) turned the match on its head.

SWINDON 0 OLDHAM 0

MATT TAYLOR was sent off as Swindon and Oldham fought out a drab draw. Premier League veteran Taylor was shown a straight red card for tripping Christophe­r Missilou when he was about to race through on goal.

CARLISLE 0 STEVENAGE 1

STEVENAGE extended their unbeaten run to four thanks to Ben Kennedy’s goal, while Carlisle boss John Sheridan moaned: ‘We get a good result then we go and do this.’

NOTTS CO 2 CREWE ALEX 1

ELLIOT HEWITT hit the winner as Notts County claimed their first win of the season. They were ahead after five minutes through Rob Milsom before Jordan Bowery levelled for Crewe, only for Hewitt to have the final word.

COLCHESTER 1 BURY 2

BURY made it back-to-back away wins thanks to Byron Moore and Chris Dagnall, and boss Ryan Lowe said: ‘I thought we were excellent.’ Luke Norris replied from the spot.

MK DONS 1 TRANMERE 1

MK DONS paid for missed chances as they failed to build on Chuks Aneke’s goal, and boss Paul Tisdale said: ‘It doesn’t take an Einstein to work out where we must improve – taking chances.’ Jonny Smith scored for Tranmere.

CRAWLEY 3 YEOVIL 1

ASHLEY Nathaniel-George and Filipe Morais hit second-half goals as Crawley clinched their third win in four. Ollie Palmer had put them ahead before Carl Dickinson levelled for Yeovil.

A SUPERB second-half display saw Mansfield ease past Northampto­n. Timi Elsnik had them ahead at the break before Danny Rose scored twice, either side of his assist for the third, converted by CJ Hamilton.

GRIMSBY 1 MORECAMBE 2

RHYS OATES and Liam Mandeville gave Morecambe the win after Elliot Embleton put Grimsby ahead, and Town boss Michael Jolley conceded his position is ‘vulnerable’.

MACCLESFIE­LD 1 FOREST GR 1

STILL smarting from their 8-0 drubbing in the Carabao Cup at West Ham in midweek, Macclesfie­ld earned a point but remain winless. Dayle Grubb put Forest Green ahead but Scott Wilson equalised.
