Eugenie’s Big Day diet secret

- By Katie Hind SHOWBUSINESS EDITOR

EVERY bride wants to look good on her big day – and Princess Eugenie is no exception, turning to some drastic weight-loss solutions to get in shape.

The bride-to-be has recruited the same diet guru who helped Prince Harry trim down for his wedding as part of her preparations for her own ceremony on Friday, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

She has struggled with her weight in the past, but has been shedding the pounds with the help of nutritionist Gabriela Peacock’s slimming supplements.

Based in Belgravia, Central London, the former model has a range of powders with names such as Slim Me, Clean Me, Calm Me, Protein Me and Energise Me – which each cost £100 for a month’s supply.

The bestseller, Slim Me, is a gel sachet with ingredients including the dietary fibre glucomannan which swells in the stomach and helps to suppress hunger, along with chromium, which is said to balance blood sugar levels to reduce cravings, and manganese to keep the metabolism fast. It also features green coffee bean and green tea extracts to provide a caffeine boost.

Harry is believed to have lost half a stone in the run-up to his wedding with the help of Ms Peacock. Eugenie, 28, has also undertaken a gruelling workout schedule to make sure she looks the best she can on her big day.

Earlier this year, she revealed how she does an hour’s intense exercise from 7am each morning

A friend said: ‘She is literally up every morning, out running and has been incredibly self-motivating, it has been amazing to see. She has really immersed herself in it.

‘She has also been hitting the gym frequently. Everyone is so very proud of her. It has been a goal that she has most certainly reached. We can’t wait for everyone to see her on Friday, she will look stunning.’

Eugenie’s mother, Sarah Ferguson has also famously battled with her weight and, after signing a reported £1.25 million-a-year deal to be the global face of Weight Watchers, lost five stone on their programme.

In 2013, Ms Peackock was headhunted by the Queen’s GP, Dr Tim Evans, to become head of nutrition at his private clinic, the Grace Belgravia in London.

Among t he celebrity cli ents quoted as endorsing Ms Peacock’s products on her website are Jeremy Clarkson and Anna Friel.

However, while Ms Peacock has many happy customers, British Dietetic Association specialist Frankie Phillips warns that the supplement is not effective for long-term weight loss.

She said: ‘Losing weight is not a quick journey and gimmicks which might help in the short term can be less than helpful for meaningful long-term weight loss which requires a complete rethink of lifestyle to ensure that the weight lost is not piled back on again when you stop using a product.’

Ms Peacock declined to comment last night.

Meanwhile, The Mail on Sunday can reveal that David and Victoria Beckham will not be at the wedding in St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

They are understood to have been invited by Eugenie and her groom Jack Brooksbank, a 32-yearold tequila brand ambassador, but sources insist they won’t be there.

George and Amal Clooney will be there, as well as Eugenie’s close friends Cara and Poppy Delevingne, and singer James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley.

Robbie Wil li ams’ s daughter Teddy is expected to be a bridesmaid.

It was also last night confirmed that tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform two pieces of music at the service.

Eugenie will be following in Meghan’s footsteps by choosing a little-known wedding cake designer.

While the Duchess of Sussex opted for Claire Ptak, Eugenie has selected Sophie Cabot, a former costume designer, who will be making a red velvet and chocolate creation, covered with detailed sugar work, including ivy.

Cabot specialises ‘ naked’ and ‘semi-naked’ cakes – where there is little or no icing on the outer edge of the sponge, although it is not known whether Eugenie has plumped for this style.

At the ceremony, it has also been revealed that pipers from 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland will perform as the bride and groom depart.

It is a touching nod to Mr Brooksbank’s family history as his great grandfather, Sir Jack Coke, was an officer in the Scots Guards.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment last night.
