Tycoon calls time on the old Annabel’s

THE original Annabel’s, London’s poshest nightclub, is finally closing down.

Last year, the Mayfair club moved to new premises just two doors away, but owner Richard Caring kept the old site as a venue to host private parties. However, the tycoon no longer feels that plan is viable so he is selling up and the doors will close for good next month. Fans will have the chance to buy its fixtures and fittings before the end of the year, including the bar stool, right, where Jerry Hall perched.

Proceeds from the Christie’s auction will go to charity.

A club source tells me: ‘There will be some special items going on sale that will bring back many memories for the rich and famous.’ Or not, depending on how tiddly they were…
