Grounds for confusion

-

EYEBROWS were raised when Sergio Ramos led his Spain team into Warren Gatland’s Wales changing room on Thursday. ‘They’re in the wrong one,’ said rugby fans who had tuned in to watch the football friendly at the Principality Stadium. But the ‘home’ changing room traditionally occupied by George North and Co is in fact the ‘away’ changing room. Gatland told his players to switch changing rooms when he took over in 2009 because Wales had become overly familiar with losing games at their home ground.

NEW ZEALAND’S Super Rugby champions, the Crusaders, have been picking the brains of English top dogs Saracens. Crusaders scrum specialist Jason Ryan (left) was at Sarries’ training ground on Wednesday to watch Mark McCall’s squad.
