Coric pulls off Federer shock

TENNIS: Borna Coric stunned defending champion Roger Federer to set up a meeting with Novak Djokovic in the Shanghai Masters final.

Coric earned his place in the final by taking down topseeded Federer 6-4, 6-4. ‘It was one of the best matches of my life,’ he said.

The Croatian gave himself a third career shot at Djokovic (above). In their previous meetings, Coric failed to take a set off the 14-time Grand Slam winner.

Djokovic, who will replace Federer as world No 2 tomorrow, booked his place in today’s final after crushing world No 5 Alexander Zverev 6-2, 6-1.
