TWO late goals from Chris Porter and Charlie Kirk ensured Crewe stayed top as they came from behind to beat Swindon. Porter cancelled out Eoin Doyle’s first-half effort for Swindon and then poached a last-minute winner before Kirk added a third in stoppage-time.

MATT TAYLOR bemoaned his Exeter team’s openness after their heavy loss. ‘We were just too open, far too open,’ the manager said. Luke Hannant, Jack Roles, George Taft and Andrew Dallas scored the goals for Cambridge.

WALSALL 1 CHELTENHAM 2

VETERAN striker Luke Varney scored the winner as Cheltenham triumphed. The 37-year-old drilled home after Josh Gordon’s penalty had cancelled out Ben Tozer’s goal.

BRADFORD 2 CRAWLEY 1

BRADFORD moved into second place thanks to goals from Harry Pritchard and substitute Danny Devine. Reece Grego-Cox scored Crawley’s consolatio­n. Their boss Gabriele Cioffi said: ‘I thought we should have had at least a point.’

JAKE TAYLOR’S opener for Port Vale was cancelled out by Kurtis Guthrie’s contentiou­s penalty. And the hosts’ boss John Askey was furious. ‘It wasn’t blatant,’ he said.

JIM BENTLEY was proud of his Morecambe players after they moved off the bottom of the table. ‘It was hard work and we put bodies on the line,’ he said. Cole Stockton’s second-half goal gave the visitors victory.

ANTONI SARCEVIC smashed in a unstoppabl­e stoppage-time goal as Ryan Lowe’s Plymouth beat Carlisle. The hosts had taken a first-half lead through striker Joel Grant.

ANDY COOK made a stunning impact as the Mansfield sub bagged a second-half brace to earn his side a point at Forest Green. Aaron Collins scored the opener for Rovers, with Jack Aitchison making it 2-0.
