CREWE manager Dave Artell said his side’s poor finishing proved costly in their draw at Morecambe.

‘We lacked a bit of quality up front and that bit of care you need in front of goal,’ said Artell after seeing Perry Ng’s (above) opener cancelled out by Aaron Wildig.

The hosts ended the match with 10 men after Adam Phillips saw red for a lunge on Ng, with Artell labelling the challenge as ‘the worst I have seen in years’.

‘We matched them,’ said Morecambe boss Derek Adams.

EXETER 1 CRAWLEY 1

BOTH managers complained about the state of the pitch after Exeter sub Brennan Dickenson rescued a point following Ashley Nadesan’s opener. ‘I don’t think the conditions helped both sides,’ said Crawley boss John Yems.

GOALS from Ben RichardsEv­erton and Dylan Connolly helped Bradford beat nine-man Plymouth, who replied via Ryan Hardie. Argyle had Gary Sawyer and Antoni Sarcevic sent off.

RUSS WILCOX said ‘it feels like a win’ after George Miller snatched a late equaliser as Scunthorpe held Port Vale. Mark Cullen and Alex Gilliead traded efforts, and Nathan Smith fired Vale ahead, before Miller’s late interventi­on.

MARK BONNER suffered his first defeat as Cambridge manager, with Lewis Alessandra (right) and Nick Anderton inflicting the damage.

Sub Reggie Lambe hit a late reply, but the damage had already been done.

‘Our luck ran out a little bit,’ admitted Bonner.

Carlisle boss Chris Beech said: ‘What I really enjoyed was a collective team spirit.’

SALFORD manager Graham Alexander felt his players coped better with the conditions as Ashley Hunter and Richie Towell downed Macclesfie­ld. ‘We coped because we train on something similar every day,’ said Alexander.

CALLUM MORTON scored twice to add to Charlie Goode’s (right) opener as Northampto­n sunk in-form Grimsby.

Visiting boss Keith Curle said: ‘We showed them the respect they deserved with, but then it was all about us and what we did.’

Grimsby boss Ian Holloway added: ‘We huffed and puffed and they blew our house down.’
