It’s the wrong time to joke around, James
JAMES McCLEAN was fined by Stoke City for an Instagram post, since removed, which showed him wearing a black balaclava while teaching his children what he described as a ‘history lesson’.
McClean, the Republic of Ireland winger who has been the victim of sectarian chanting at grounds, apologised and deleted his
Instagram account. I might be wrong but I suspect McClean, who has become a divisive figure because of his refusal to wear a poppy during Armistice Day tributes, was actually poking fun at himself.
As others have already discovered, troubled times like these do not lend themselves to experiments in humour.
