THE WHOLE WORLD’S TALKING ABOUT THE MOS: A REAL SUNDAY PAPER, NOT A DÉJÀ VU PAPER

-

WELCOME to the Sunday paper the whole world is talking about – a real newspaper, not a déjà vu paper full of stories you’ve already read on the internet. And what a week it’s been for The Mail on Sunday.

First, on Thursday evening, came Victoria Beckham’s U-turn on her controversial decision – exclusively revealed by The Mail on Sunday – to take taxpayer cash to pay some 30 staff at her loss-making fashion business.

A friend said she had listened to the ‘mood of the country’ before withdrawing her application for furlough help that would have cost the public purse about £150,000.

Then, at lunchtime on Friday came the news that rocketed around the world – The Mail on Sunday had won the first round in its legal battle with the Duchess of Sussex over our publication of a letter she wrote to her father.

Judge Mr Justice Warby agreed to our application to have significant parts of her claim struck out, dismissing them as ‘irrelevant’, ‘inadequate’ and ‘impermissibly vague’.

Leading media lawyer Mark Stephens, a partner at Howard Kennedy, described the ruling as ‘an absolute victory’ for The Mail on Sunday.

He added: ‘For Meghan this judgment is like a train ploughing into a petrol tanker on a level crossing. It is a complete disaster.’

Meanwhile, the world – from the President of the United States downwards – is paying ever more attention to our revelations ns about intelligence suggesting the Covid19 virus may have leaked from a testing laboratory in Wuhan.

Today, on pages 15, 16 and 17, our Political Editor Glen Owen reveals disturbing new evidence. evidence So keep on reading The Mail on Sunday – a real Sunday newspaper, not a déjà vu paper.

You never know what we’re going to come up with next!
