SABRI LAMOUCHI vowed to write himself into Forest folklore despite his new contract celebrations being spoiled by Connor Wickham’s dramatic late header.

The French manager was appointed by the two-time European Cup winners on a 12-month deal after replacing Martin O’Neill last summer.

‘I think my contract is not a surprise for anybody because my first choice was to continue and try to achieve our target together.

‘It’s thanks to the club, the board and the players because I feel at home here. I’m lucky and proud to work at this club with fantastic fans and history.

‘We want to be part of this, but we want to write our own history now.’

Forest remain well placed in fifth, although the result left Wednesday in no-man’s land.

Garry Monk’s side lie eight points above the relegation zone and the same distance behind the play-off zone.

Monk faces an anxious wait to discover which players will agree new deals, with their contracts expiring later this month.

Monk said: ‘They have all been asked to extend — Kieran Lee is a definite and the others are ongoing.

‘It’s going to be there decision. Of course, I would like it clarified as soon as possible.’
