IT IS always good to know a bit about your fellow diners and Amber Heard seems to have been revising.

The actress arrived at the party with a copy of Baroness Helena Kennedy’s book, Eve Was Framed: Women and British Justice, in her hand (circled above). Written as a polemic, it features the peer’s opinion of criminal l aw, i ncluding t he intimidating nature of court and the wearing of wigs and gowns.

Published in 1993, it explores Baroness Kennedy’s life as a successful female QC and the wider impact of the law on women, social classes and ethnic minorities.
