Atherton falls to blooper!

MICHAEL ATHERTON was duped by a viewer when Sky Sports asked people to send in club cricket scores on the day the recreational game belatedly began.

Atherton, live on air, read out a tweet from a user called Charlie Hilton which, giving an apparent update from Ben Stokes’s old club in the Cumbria Cricket League, said: ‘@SkyCricket Unbelievable scenes for Cockermouth cricket club, with Hugh Jardon bowling 6 for 9!’

Cue much hilarity from Atherton’s co-commentator Rob Key and the rest of the Sky team at the expense of the former England captain.
