Soaking up the sun... it’s Gwynnie and the daughter who could be her twynnie
THE apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, the old saying goes – and here Gwyneth Paltrow provides proof in a stunning summer snapshot with her lookalike teenage daughter.
The actress and 16- year- ol d Apple posed for a selfie in their swimsuits while lying in the sun, with the youngster showing the same poise that has helped her mother become one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Posting the charming photograph on Instagram yesterday, bespectacled Gwyneth used an emoji to signify her daughter and captioned her snap: ‘Summer with my Apple.’
Within an hour it had nearly 250,000 likes, with celebrity friends commenting that Apple was the spitting image of her 47-year-old mother. Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson simply wrote: ‘Twins.’
In 2004, Gwyneth and ex-husband Chris Martin, the Coldplay singer, surprised the world by announcing the quirky name of their first child. The couple also have a son, Moses, 14. In May this year, to mark Apple’s 16th birthday, the superstar told her
Instagram followers she could not be more proud of her daughter.
‘You are the light of my heart, you are pure joy,’ wrote Gwyneth. ‘You are wickedly intelligent and you have the best, most dry, most brilliant sense of humor. I have the best time being your mom.’
Gwyneth has been isolating at home in Los Angeles during the Covid-19 pandemic with husband Brad Falchuk, co-creator of the TV series Glee, and her two teenagers.
She told followers of her lifestyle brand Goop last week she had been working hard to stay healthy during the lockdown, including undergoing intermittent fasting to tend to her ‘dosha’ – a term in the Indian medical tradition of Ayurveda to denote a mind-body type.
‘Because I’m not travelling, it’s back to basics for the things that make me feel good: Ayurvedic eating for my dosha, intermittent fasting, and fresh, clean, nutrient-dense foods,’ she told the Goop website.
