Amanda t ackles critics – by getting even racier
AMANDA HOLDEN has responded to viewers who complained about her risqué wardrobe in the best way she knows – by flashing even more flesh.
After her l ow- cut outfit prompted 235 Britain’s Got Talent viewers to complain to TV watchdog Ofcom last week, the glamorous judge appeared on the show yesterday in an equally racy £2,000 gown that exposed plenty of chest and gym-toned thigh.
But later in the programme, the 49-year-old mother-of-two looked rather more demure in a full-length white number that covered her from the neck down, as she performed a track from her new album.
Both outfits were designed by Suzanne Neville, with Ms Holden’s stylist Karl Willett helping to create the lacy see-through gown.
Yesterday, the presenter laughed off the row over the previous week’s revealing dress by insisting she will continue to wear what she considers to be nice gowns.
‘ I love glamming up,’ she told a friend.
‘I will be 50 next year and if I want to wear a beautiful dress, then I will absolutely wear one.’
A source close to her added: ‘Amanda chooses her dresses with her stylist – it’s not like she would be allowed to wear them on a family TV show if they were that offensive.
‘Her team and her producers see what she looks like before she goes on, as does her husband Chris, and there are definitely no complaints there.’
While viewers feared her low-cut dress last weekend risked a major wardrobe malfunction, Ms Holden insisted a robust corset was keeping ‘the girls’ firmly in place.
But i t was not the first time her fashion choices have attracted controversy.
In 2017, she prompted 663 complaints when she wore a daring Julien MacDonald dress, with protests flooding in to Ofcom even three months after the initial broadcast.
