PSG plot raid to test Spurs’ resolve over keeping hold of Dele

-

TOTTENHAM are resisting attempts from Paris St-Germain to sign Dele Alli but expect another bid from the French club before tomorrow’s deadline.

Two offers have been rejected so far by Spurs with the last a loan with a £4 million fee.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has insisted he does not want Alli to leave while boss Jose Mourinho hopes the 24- year- old’s recent spell out of the side will act as motivation to work harder.

Meanwhile, Tottenham defender Ryan S es segn on is due in Germany tomorrow to finalise a loan move to Hoffenheim.

The Bundesliga club have won a competitive race to land Sessegnon on a season-long deal. A string of clubs had expressed interest in the 20-year-old, with Hoffenheim’s German rivals Hertha Berlin and Southampton among the contenders for his signature.

Barcelona and Ajax also expressed interest but needed to sell players to free up space for new additions first.

Sessegnon joined Spurs last summer for£25m but struggled for game time last season, making only 12 appearances.

Mourinho has only included him in one matchday squad this season and Sergio Reguilon’s arrival from Real Madrid has pushed him further down the pecking order. Reguilon joined for£25m last month at the same time as Gareth Bale and is expected to be first choice at left-back. But Spurs view Sessegnon as a signing for the long term and were insistent that any deal would only be a loan without any option or obligation to buy. Sessegnon will now continue his development under the guidance of highly-rated coach Sebastian Hoeness at Hoffenheim, who can also offer him the chance to play in the Europa League. Spurs are also allowing defender Juan Foyth, 22, to join Villarreal with an option to make the move permanent for£13.6m. Mourinho is prepared to sell defender Cameron Carter-Vickers with Bournemouth, Swansea and Luton keen. Tottenham believe right-back Serge Aurier will stay and can provide cover at centre-back should they fail to land another one before the deadline. Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger, who is being considered as an option by Tottenham, also has interest from PSG and AC Milan.
