Affair rumour rocks J-Lo and her f iance
JENNIFER LOPEZ and her fiance Alex Rodriguez yesterday denied rumours of a split – but admitted that they are fighting to save their relationship.
Their move came after it was widely reported in the US that their two-year engagement had come to an end, following claims that the former sportsman had grown close to another woman.
The stories prompted the Hollywood power couple to issue a statement saying reports of a split were ‘inaccurate’, but they admitted: ‘ We are working through some things.’
Their remarks came after Rodriguez, 45, a former baseball player, had been linked with a US reality star Madison LeCroy, 31. However, the couple insist their problems have nothing to do with a third person.
The rumours started in January on an episode of Southern Charm, the fly-on-the-wall programme in which Miss LeCroy appears.
One of her co-stars accused her of ‘sleeping with men, married men’. An ex- baseball player in Miami was named but bleeped out of the broadcast.
Miss LeCroy later admitted she had been communicating with Rodriguez but insisted exchanges were ‘innocent’, saying that they had never met in person and had spoken only on the phone.
She added of Rodriguez: ‘He’s never physically cheated on his f i a n c e e wi t h me. ’ A spokesman for the sports star also claimed that his client had never met Miss LeCroy.
But despite the fact they both say they haven’t met, Miss LeCroy’s co- star Shep Rose claimed she had signed a non-disclosure agreement. He said: ‘I know there was, like, an NDA signed which doesn’t seem to mean anything any more, not worth the price of the paper they’re printed on.’
On Friday, J-Lo posted on social media a video call with her ex- husband Marc Anthony and their crying daughter Emme, 13, although it was unclear why the teenager was upset.
Lopez and Rodriguez, nicknamed A-Rod, began dating in 2017 after they bumped into one another in a restaurant. Last March, he proposed while on holiday in the Bahamas, and shortly afterwards J-Lo posted a picture of her engagement ring on her Instagram account for her 146 million followers to see.
The singer-turned-actress said they had planned to marry last year, but twice postponed the wedding because of Covid. She is currently filming in t he Dominican Republic while
Rodriguez remains at home in Florida. Maid In Manhattan star Lopez was previously married to Anthony for seven years but their relationship ended in divorce in 2011.
