MOTORING Top Gear Sunday, BBC1, 8pm
When Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard d Hammond departed in 2015, Top Gear faced a rocky road, but now the show is going from strength to strength. The new series begins with a trip to the Lake District, where Freddie Flintoff (above), Chris Harris and Paddy McGuinness come face to face with the cars their fathers used to drive (Ford Cortina, BMW 323i and Ford Fiesta). Later, Harris tests Lamborghini’s first hybrid supercar, the £2.5 million Sian.
ADVENTURE Bear & Jonny Wilkinson’s Wild Adventure Tuesday, ITV, 8pm
Former boxer Nicola Adams has signed up to go wild in the country with Bear Grylls (above), and she’ll probably give him a run for his money. But first, ex-England rugby union star Wilkinson tests his survival nous in a gruelling spell on Dartmoor. He has spoken about the stresses of his rugby career, but Grylls is determined to push him even further.
DOCUMENTARY 2020: The Story Of Us Tuesday, ITV, 9pm
Director Kevin Macdonald tells the story of Britain last year, focusing on the battle inside NHS hospitals, especially intensive care units (pictured: critical care consultant Dr Shondipond Laha). We see the experiences of medical staff at the frontline of a crisis worse than anything they had ever encountered, and also the patients who struggled to survive. It’s a powerfully moving account.
DOCUMENTARY Caroline Flack: Her Life And Death Wednesday, Channel 4, 9pm
The suicide of Caroline Flack (above) shocked the nation. A year on, this documentary follows the star’s twin sister Jody and their mother Christine as they pay tribute to Caroline, try to find out what happened, and begin to come to terms with the awful events. Featuring new footage and interviews, this is a raw glimpse into the dark side of celebrity.
COMEDY Comic Relief Friday, BBC1, 7pm
We a all need something ething to smile about these days, and a glance at the stars taking part in this year’s Comic Relief should be enough to cheer most viewers up. Lenny Henry is at the helm of the marathon fundraiser, and he’s joined in the studio by Davina McCall, David Tennant and Alesha Dixon. Keira Knightley and the Top Gear hosts are also on the bill. Plus, Jack Whitehall (top) will be on hand to show how Zoom can go very, very wrong.
