DAME SUE BRUCE
Another ex-local government expert, is commissioner overseeing Scotland. Former City of Edinburgh Council chief executive. Chair of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and is a Deputy Lieutenant of the City of Edinburgh.
SARAH CHAMBERS
Appointed in 2018, the former civil servant was chief executive of the Postal Services Commission between 2004 and 2008. Served on the Competition and Markets Authority, Bar Standards Board and Judicial Appointments Commission.
ALASDAIR MORGAN
Served on the Commission since 2016, the SNP nominee was not caught up in the 2018 row over Brexit bias. Mr Morgan is an former SNP MP, MSP and deputy presiding officer of the Scottish parliament.

Local government troubleshooter led Government intervention into the running of Doncaster Council between 2010 and 2012. Chief executive of Kirklees Council 2004 to 2010. Former adviser to the Department of Health.

Professor of communications and creative industries at Aberystwyth University. Wales Trustee on the BBC Trust. Awarded a CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2001.
JOAN WALLEY
Ex-Labour MP Joan Walley stood down from the Commons before the 2016 referendum but earlier this year said: ‘We have gained a sense of sovereignty at the cost of new trade restrictions and unnecessary red tape.’
LORD GILBERT OF PANTEG
One-time political secretary to David Cameron was an adviser to the Remain campaign ahead of the EU referendum. He joined the Lords in 2015 and is chairman of the Lords’ communications select committee.
