PREMIER LEAGUE

RELEGATED: Sheffield United MANCHESTER CITY blew their chance yesterday to wrap up a fifth Premier League title in 10 seasons, losing 2-1 at home to Champions League final opponents Chelsea.

It still looks like a matter of when not if they do it — and when could be as early as today if second-placed Manchester United lose at Aston Villa.

Raheem Sterling, who scored City’s goal, said: ‘We wanted to get it done today but we’ve got more chances to come.’

CHAMPIONSHIP

CHAMPIONS: Norwich PROMOTED: Watford PLAYOFFS: Brentford, Swansea, Barnsley, Bournemouth RELEGATED: Wycombe, Rotherham, Sheff Wed SIXTY seconds of drama decided the Championship relegation battle with Wayne Rooney’s Derby surviving.

The Rams looked relegated until Cardiff’s Marlon Pack scored an 88th-minute leveller against Rotherham.

Martyn Waghorn’s penalty had earned Derby a 3-3 draw against Sheffield Wednesday, hoisting them out of the bottom three and sending the Owls down.

A relieved Rooney said: ‘It was a crazy game and I think it’s the story of our season. The important thing is that we stayed in the division.’

LEAGUE ONE

CHAMPIONS: Hull PROMOTED: Peterborough RELEGATED: Rochdale, Northampton, Swindon, Bristol Rovers THE one issue to be resolved today is who joins Blackpool, Sunderland and Lincoln in the playoffs. Portsmouth, who are at home to Accrington, are in the box seat but Oxford and Charlton, both a point behind, are poised to pounce.
