Mo ‘played’ Liverpool, blasts Gary

-

OBARCELONA President Joan Laporte has claimed Leeds star Raphinha wants a move to the Nou Camp and introduced a new twist to the Frenkie de Jong saga by saying he would still be welcome to stay if he agreed to a pay cut.

Laporte, speaking at a tribute to club legend Johan Cruyff, confirmed Barca’s interest in Raphinha and indicated the player would prefer to play for them rather than Chelsea.

‘We have spoken with Leeds. We know the player would also like to come to Barca, but there are also other clubs,’ he said.

Laporte has been keen to ease Barca’s financial crisis by selling De Jong to Manchester United for £70million but realises the star is unwilling to be pushed out against his will. So Laporte has suggested he could stay, provided he accepts a cut

GARY NEVILLE claims Mohamed Salah ‘played’ Liverpool over his new long-term contract.

Salah has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal worth over £350,000 a week, making him the highest-paid player in Liverpool’s illustrious history.

The Egyptian’s previous deal was due to run out next year and Real Madrid and Barcelona were poised to pounce after protracted talks with Anfield chiefs looked to be stalling.

‘Salah has played them hasn’t he,’ tweeted Manchester United favourite Neville, followed by a series of laughing and winking emojis. Neville had previously predicted the Golden Boot winner would leave Merseyside for one of three European sides.

‘I don’t think he will stay at Liverpool for the rest of his career,’ the player-turned-pundit said on a Sky forum last year.
