Why should the King want to see Harry?
The exclusive opinion poll in last week’s Mail on Sunday showed that King Charles was the fourth most popular member of the Royal Family – behind the Prince and Princess of Wales and the Princess Royal. Unsurprisingly the Sussexes were at the bottom. If the King removed Harry and Meghan’s titles, I believe that his popularity would soar even more.

The King is a workaholic. He’s devoted every aspect of his life to the job, and he deserves to finally get the public’s recognition.

I’m not surprised the King didn’t see Prince Harry while he was in the UK. It’s very worrying that Harry seems to be completely oblivious to how much heartbreak he has caused. His attitude seems to be that everyone must hear ‘his truth’ rather than ‘the truth’. Even Meghan has read the room now, it seems, and I doubt she will ever set foot in the UK again.

The Prince’s Trust has been a phenomenally successful venture. What the King is doing, has done, and will continue to do, for people and groups across the country is inspirational.

As Harry is described on his profile as a humanitarian and mental health advocate, he could have built bridges by spending more time in the UK. Independently wealthy, he could have purchased his own property, let his children visit their grandfather, cousins and family. This would have been building bridges.

What father doesn’t have time for his son? King Charles is 75 and apparently too busy with work. No wonder Prince Harry feels downtrodden by his family when they won’t even make the effort to see him and speak with him.

I agree with Sarah Vine who wrote last week about why
Harry cannot just waltz back whenever he fancies. I, too, disagree that families need to come together and forget the past when someone is sick.
People who are struggling with cancer and other serious illnesses need to be protected from unrepentant troublemakers.

Harry stopped being a working royal – he didn’t stop being a member of the Windsor family. Of course he can visit his family and come to Britain whenever he likes. He left the job precisely so he could have this freedom.
