Professor T (STV, 9pm)

THE drama continues as a bride is found dead on her wedding night, floating in the hotel swimming pool. Some EastEnders fans may remember that Ronnie Mitchell met a similar fate and be wondering if it’s a more common cause of death than you might think. The police are called in to investigate and begin to suspect foul play. However, all the wedding photos suggest it really was the happiest day of her life. Can Professor T (Ben Miller) shed some light on this puzzling case?

The 1980s Supermarket (C5, 9pm)

IN the 1980s, Britain embraced diets and exercise like never before, boosting the sales of low-calorie ready meals, including the iconic Findus Lean Cuisine. Two of the decade’s biggest breakfast TV stars take us back in time. Chef Rustie Lee whips up a batch of fad-diet favourite cabbage soup and Lizzie Webb recalls how she got viewers lunging in the living room. Meanwhile, Dr Chris Clarke finds out if there’s any scientific evidence that you can eat a Milky Way between meals without ruining your appetite.

Surgeons: At The Edge Of Life (BBC2, 9pm)

THE latest episode of the fascinating series follows maxillofacial consultant Sanjay Sharma and his colleague Madan “Ethu” Ethunandan as they prepare to remove a patient’s eye to cut out cancer that is growing deep behind it, and then reconstruct his face. Without the procedure, their patient, retired lorry driver Mick, 76, would die, but this is a very rare and challenging operation. Meanwhile, an elderly patient’s bladder and prostate surgery is jeopardised when he develops an irregular heart rhythm.
