Former minister under investigation by Tories for criticising support for Israel

Have to hand it to him, speaking the truth about the origins of the whole sorry Israel Gaza conflict. Not a Tory, but support him 100% in what he says.

WOW!! A Tory who tells the truth for once, never thought I’d see the day. Good on him!!

If he’s not careful they’ll be calling him antisemitic! But to be fair, much as I hate to support or agree with anything a Tory politician might say, he is, of course, absolutely correct both about the position being taken by his colleagues and what Israel and the IDF are doing in Gaza and the West Bank.

There’s no chance of Sir Keir and his fellow shadows being investigated by the Labour Party – that’s only done if you’re against genocide or, indeed, anything to the left of the Tories. Andrew Sanders

JK Rowling lashes out at Humza Yousaf amid Hate Crime Act row

Dear Ms Rowling, when in a hole, stop digging.

He said her comments may well be offensive, insulting and upsetting to trans people, that’s all.

Humza Yousaf hits back as Tory MSP claims police ‘captured by SNP’

Aye, right, the polis are captured by the SNP. That’s why they camped out in Nicola’s yard with crime-scene tents?

Richard Murphy: Forget the hype Scotland, freeports are basically just tax havens – here’s why

Thanks for that explanation – I’ve been a bit perplexed by the issue but now have a basis for an opinion.

My guess is that the SNP have gone along with this for one simple reason. If they had come out against it the Tories and their supporters in the mainstream media would have started an unending attack on the SNP for turning down promises of huge amounts of cash, for being against economic growth etc etc.

Agreeing to go along with the freeport idea was the lesser of two evils and in the knowledge that anything proposed by Westminster is unlikely to come to fruition in any case.
