Volunteer raising notes for music charity at Kiltwalk
A CHARITY volunteer for Scotland’s ground-breaking music and social change programme, Big Noise, will take on the 23-mile Glasgow Kiltwalk this weekend to raise vital funds to support its work.
Kelsey Taylor, from Bishopbriggs, will complete the gruelling “Mighty Stride” from Glasgow Green to Balloch on Sunday. The 20 year-old is collecting donations for Sistema Scotland, the charity that delivers the Big Noise programme in six centres across Scotland. So far she has raised £275 and is hoping to reach £300.
The programme uses the power of music and nurturing relationships to help children in Scotland’s most disadvantaged areas build their confidence, resilience, attainment, and ambition. Kelsey volunteers at

Sistema Scotland launched its first programme in Raploch, Stirling, in 2008 and now supports a combined 3500 children and young people across Scotland.
Kelsey said: “I’ve actually done the Kiltwalk twice before for a couple of different charities – but I saw that Sistema Scotland are a registered charity with the Kiltwalk. I thought, ‘I’m really fond of this charity – I love doing the Kiltwalk – so why not raise some money for Big Noise?’”
