STILL IN FASHION!

Bath newboy Marvin Morgan’s trendy clothes aren’t the only thing in demand

NEW Bath City forward Marvin Morgan, left, may own his own trendy clothes range, but he says scoring goals will never go out of fashion. Since leaving the fulltime game last year, the 33-year-old has built-up his brand, Fresh Ego Kid, as well as turning out part time. Havant & Waterlooville’s relegation from the National League South means the Hawks needed to get the forward off the wage bill and their loss is Bath’s gain after he signed a one-year loan deal.

The ex-Plymouth, Aldershot and Shrewsbury Town player started in a friendly match hours after a deal was announced. He didn’t score in the 2-0 win at Shortwood but Bath manager Gary Owers was pleased with what he saw.

“Marvin came straight in and did well,” he said, of the 6ft 4in target man.“He’s still got the desire to work hard and put the ball in the net.”

The manager also enjoyed a special moment in the closing stages when his son Jake, 17, made his debut – even if it was a very, very brief one!

“He got 30 seconds at the end, but he enjoyed it,” the Twerton Park boss said.“He was my last sub because of injury and I wanted to avoid playing with ten men in the heat, so he got on.

“We’re in confident mood about the season ahead and can’t wait to get going now.”
