SWEET AS STEADIEST

- By Joel Holt

The first arrived on the half-hour. Tricky Pablo Haysham skipped into the area and teed up Symons, who slid past Alex Bass.

Then, Mills waltzed into the box and was tripped by Brockway. The top scorer stepped up and rifled the penalty into the corner.

Haysham could have put them out of sight with a low strike that fizzed wide.

However, the Whites, who stuck ten past Dorchester in midweek, levelled four minutes into the second half as Kane O’Keefe threaded through Perrett, who finished from an acute angle.

And as the atmosphere cranked up, Bennett completed the comeback with an instinctive finish for number three before Perrett made it 4-2 with a deft chip over Martin Horsell.

Mills converted a second penalty in injury-time but it wasn’t enough to prevent Hereford suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time this season.

“Blimey, I’m going to go back to playing. It has got to be easier than doing what I’m doing and it won’t be so tiring. It’s just bonkers,” joked Salisbury boss Steve Claridge.

“We start well and then fall into a massive hole. We’re were absolutely lifeless but I had to reiterate time and time again what I wanted and we got it.”

Counterpart Peter Beadle said: “It was not entertaining for me. Again, we have shown an ineptitude to defend.”
