BANGOR HIT BACK FROM TWO DOWN FOR VICTORY

overturned a two-goal deficit to complete an incredible recovery against Rhyl. The Citizens consolidat­ed third spot in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League after winning 3-2 having looked dead and buried at 2-0 down.

Rhyl took charge with two goals in three minutes, Kristian Pierce drilled a free-kick past Connor Roberts and Rio Ahmadi scoring against his former club.

Six minutes into the second half, the Citizens opened their account when Brayden Shaw played in Rodrigo Branco Araujo and the Brazilian produced a cool finish.

The Lilywhites were reduced to ten men after 57 minutes when Aaron Simpson was sent off. They were made to pay as Gary Roberts played the ball in for Danny Nardiello to fire home.

Henry Jones got the 68thminute winner, heading home to complete a remarkable fightback.

In the top match in division two, Llanelli drew 2-2 at Briton

Ferry Llansawel. Lee Trundle scored both the Llanelli goals to preserve their unbeaten record while Gareth Jones and Daniel Thomas were on target for Ferry.

AFC Porth squeezed into second place above Ferry with a 3-2 win at home to Ammanford.

Elsewhere, Mold Alex remain in the relegation zone following a 2-0 defeat at Holywell Town and are subsequent­ly one point adrift of Denbigh Town, who went down 3-1 at Flint Town United. Conwy Borough also remain one of the season’s early relegation candidates after they were denied victory at Llanfair United after a 2-2 draw. Porthamado­g eased to a 3-1 win at struggling Holyhead Hotspur, while Gresford Athletic won 1-0 at Caersws.
