ROARING ROARIE IS SUTTON’S FA CUP MR FIX-IT

- By Charles Webster

DARTFORD 3 SUTTON UTD 6

SUTTON UNITED came out on top of the FA Cup slugfest at Princes Park as they slammed six goals past Dartford to clinch a place in the second round.

After knocking out National League Forest Green in the last round, Paul Doswell’s side showed they can dig in too.

Three times Sutton took the lead only to see Dartford fight back to equalise but a threegoal spree in the last half hour gave United a comfortable winning margin.

Fans were still taking their places on the terraces when Sutton opened the scoring after 45 seconds when Max Biamou stabbed the ball home past a static Dartford defence.

Three minutes later, Elliot Bradbrook, the Darts’ inspirational skipper, pulled his side level when he calmly passed beyond Ross Worner in the Sutton goal.

Back came the visitors and on 14 minutes Roarie Deacon restored Sutton’s lead with a shot from the edge of the box.

Dartford got a break on 17 minutes when United skipper Jamie Collins handled the ball and Bradbrook stepped up to score his seventh FA Cup goal of the season.

Deacon posed a constant threat down U’s right flank and worked hard to set up a chance for Biamou on 22 minutes which the French ace seized gleefully.

Six minutes into the second half Duane Ofori-Acheampong pulled the Darts level again but Ross Stearn made it 4-3 to the visitors.

Man of the match Deacon added Sutton’s fifth and in time added on Stearn grabbed his second of the game to wrap up the win in a nine-goal thriller as the south west Londoners wonder who they will get next.
