FANTASTIC FYLDE GET HIGH FIVE AT TIGERS

- By Kelsey DeMaria

GLOUCESTER 1 AFC FYLDE 5

GLOUCESTER CITY were comprehensively beaten at home but would argue that at least four of the goals scored by AFC Fylde were avoidable.

Just as they had done in the FA Trophy meeting between the two sides three weeks prior, Gloucester took the lead within the opening 90 seconds.

Joe Hanks floated in a teasing free kick which was spilled by Rhys Taylor in goal and into the path of Sam Avery, who prodded home.

It didn’t take long for the Coasters to level though, as Gloucester conceded a scrappy goal from a corner, with Dan Bradley in the right place at the right time.

Danny Rowe was on the scoresheet and he won’t score an easier goal all season as City gave away possession and Rowe rounded Singh for a tap in.

It wasn’t a mistake for the third goal, but the Tigers won’t look back on it with too much fondness as James Hardy picked the ball up, ran 20 yards, gave Singh the eyes and slotted it into the net to kill the game.

Not sixty seconds had passed before Fylde had begun to ice the cake, as Singh punched a cross straight to Caspar Hughes who had a tap in.

Rowe then put the cherry on top as he sidefooted home his second of the afternoon following a counter down the left. STAR MAN: Steve Williams (AFC Fylde) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
