BRAMALL LEADING THE BIG WINTER MOVERS

- By Sam Elliott

AS dream weeks go, you’ll travel a long way to find one better than the last seven days of Cohen Bramall’s life.

The 20-year-old has gone from helping to fire Hednesford Town into the Evo-Stik NPL Premier play-off places to signing for Premier League giants Arsenal.

The Pitmen have agreed a £40,000 deal with the Gunners for their pace-merchant leftback in a move that has stunned football.

It all came after he was made redundant from his full-time job in the Bentley car factory in Crewe at the end of last year. All this after he couldn’t settle down as a teenager, swapping Non-League clubs every season he turned out for Kidsgrove, Alsager Town, Nantwich, Market Drayton and Newcastle Town.

New Solihull Moors manager Liam McDonald, who brought in the starlet for Hednesford last summer on a free transfer, said: “He’s a natural athlete. I would put him up there with the quickest players I’ve seen – he is very difficult to stop.

FORMER Premier League striker Kevin Lisbie has dropped into Non-League by signing for National League South strugglers Whitehawk.

Lisbie, 38, most recently at Barnet, made over 150 appearances for Charlton in the Premier League. The veteran has also had spells with Colchester, Ipswich and Millwall and Leyton Orient.

Meanwhile, Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock reckons he signed Harrow Borough’s young striker Ibrahim Meite “on a hunch” after watching him play.

The 20-year-old has joined the Championship side on a contract running until the summer of 2018 having impressed for the Ryman League Greens.
