SEAGULLS SWOOP TO KNOCK OFF CONCORD

- By Jack Smith

WESTON were certainly Super yesterday as they took the points in this crunch tie between the two struggling sides.

A pair of calamitous errors by the home side left them too much work to do in what was otherwise a very close game.

Cameron Norman was robbed of the ball by Bradley Ash before the striker slotted low past Bailey Vose.

Brighton loanee Vose was next to gift a goal. A wide clearance found Jamie Chamberlain who beat James White and saw Vose cantering toward him in midfield which left him the simple task of passing into an empty goal.

Concord had a glorious chance to get straight back into the game with Steve Cawley being played through on goal. His shot was stopped by the on rushing Luke Purnell.

Weston took the game further away from their hosts as a quick counter attack was converted well by the late arrival of Gethyn Hill.

The Seagulls were looking for a quiet second half but with Concord chasing the game this proved unlikely. Cawley reduced the arrears and gave his side a glimmer of hope with a neat finish to a slick right-sided move.

Jordan Chiedozie and late sub Tony Stokes probed but to no avail and Cawley had another gilt edged chance to score but blazed over. STAR MAN: Lloyd Humphries (Weston-super-Mare) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
