KOSYLO DAZZLES IN SHAYMEN TRIUMPH

- By Adam Cheshire

A VIRTUOSO individual performance from Matty Kosylo inspired FC Halifax Town to a fifth win in six games against Nuneaton.

At the heart of everything good about the Shaymen’s professional display, the electrifying Kosylo tormented the Boro defence throughout and created Adam Morgan’s first half opener before winning – and then scoring – a penalty which sealed a comfortable victory.

His first involvement, 11 minutes in, saw him take a short corner to captain Kevin Roberts who crossed for Matt Brown, but his header sailed over the bar.

But five minutes later Kosylo’s trickery and skill allowed him to find Roberts again, whose cross was fantastically turned in by Morgan.

Kosylo then crossed for Daniel Nti but his backheel was kept out by Tyrell Belford.

At the other end Sam Johnson produced a stunning save to deny Greg Mills, but it was all Halifax after that.

And the hosts had a chance to double their lead 90 seconds into the second period when Kosylo’s pace took him into the area where he was bundled over.

Kosylo dusted himself down before coolly sending Belford the wrong way from the spot.

A Morgan overhead kick was ruled out for offside, then his lob was caught by Belford.
