TAVISTOCK are the new leaders following their 5-0 thrashing of second-bottom visitors St Blazey.

Shane Krac’s brace was added to by goals from Josh Grant, Glyn Hobbs from the spot and Rikki Shepherd.

Non-playing Saltash United surrendere­d top spot, now trailing Tavistock by three points, although the new tabletoppe­rs have played two games more.

Non-playing Plymouth Argyle Reserves stay in third, while St Austell fill fourth after a 2-1 win at Exmouth Town.

Hosts Godolphin Atlantic beat Callington Town 2-0, Cullompton Rangers enjoyed a superb 4-1 win at Helston Athletic and Launceston drew 0-0 with visitors Camelford.

Newquay, who were also missing league action, remain basement boys with only five points from 24 league games and are locked together and separated only on goal difference from second-bottom St Blazey.

EAST MIDLANDS

BIRSTALL UNITED moved level on points with leaders West Bridgford with a sixth league win in a row.

Lewis Dodd, Thomas Marriott, Samuel Moore and Charlie Young scored in a 4-1 success over lowly Belper United.

United were able to move joint top as the battle between third and first ended all square.

Aylestone Park stay in third, but their five-game winning run came to an end as they held table-toppers West Bridgford to a 2-2 draw. All four goals came in an entertaini­ng first half as Tim Hopkinson’s brace for Bridgford cancelled out Ryan Foster’s early effort. Jack Jepson then made it 2-2.

Kimberley Miners Welfare are up to fourth as they eased past Greenwood Meadows 5-2, Radford hammered Holwell Sports 5-0 and Anstey Nomads won at home for just the third time in the league, beating Arnold Town 4-0. All other games were postponed.

WEST MIDLANDS REGIONAL

STEVE HOLE hammered home five goals as league leaders Haughmond maintained their ten-point lead at the top by blitzing Bilston Town 9-0.

Hole hit his five goals in the first half as Haughmond scored an amazing seven goals in just 35 minutes.

Promising 17-year-old Wolves loanee Sam Phillips thumped home two more to leave Bilston in disarray by half-time.

But Bilston put up a better show in the second half before late goals from sub Adam Davies and Sean Jones.

Wolves Sporting Community, in second, left it late before snatching a 3-1 win at Ellesmere Rangers.

Dangerman Danny Westwood headed Sporting into a first-minute to lead, but. Ellesmere hit back to level on the stroke of half time.

Sporting were awarded a late penalty, which sub Dimitri Dunkley converted, before Chris Rabone sealed the win.

The only other match to survive the weather saw Stone Old Alleynians pull off a vital 4-1 win at Pegasus Juniors.
