HENDON 0 LOWESTOFT T 0

- By David Ballheimer

HENDON played out a second draw of the season with Lowestoft and, for the second time, Trawler-boys goalkeeper Jamie Waite failed to make it to half-time.

The injury he suffered, colliding with Casey Maclaren, spoiled the match.

Both players had to be replaced with defensive midfielder Travis Cole taking over between the posts.

Before that, the game had been very open.

A fine save from Tom Lovelock denied Jake Reed after just four minutes. Five minutes later, Waite did well to keep out an effort from Laste Dombaxe.

The goalkeeper also was quick to block Marcel Barrington.

Just before halftime, Rory McAuley got on the end of a corner but directed the ball straight at Lovelock from six yards.

After the break, McAuley stood out defensively as Lowestoft played as if they were a man short and were content to attack on the break.

For their part, Hendon had enough opportunities to test out Cole, but they too often took the wrong option and only one effort, from Matt Ball actually required any sort of save.

Nico Cotton could have won it for Lowestoft, but he hit the post with 20 minutes to go.

In the end, the game rather died, with Hendon frustrated not to have broken down the sturdy Lowestoft defence.
