GLOVE IS ALL AROUND AT NLP AWARDS
REUSCH are delighted to sponsor The Non League Paper Goalkeeper of the
Year award for the fifth year running.
Previous winners have performed over the season enjoying clean sheets, outstanding saves and just being the nutter at the back who shouts a lot, hardly ever scores, but can be the difference between the team winning and losing.
Last year’s winner, Ross Worner, has enjoyed the most famous of cup runs with Sutton United.
Reusch have a fantastic heritage in goalkeeping, producing the first goalkeeper glove with a latex palm back in 1973, which Sepp Maier wore the following year to pick up the World Cup with West Germany.
Since then, more World Cup and European Championship winning goalkeepers have worn Reusch gloves than any other brand on the market.
Over 40 years of working with goalkeepers at all levels from international players to grassroots level has seen the product develop and mature into the range we see today.
Since Sepp Maier became the first Reusch Ambassador to pioneer the wearing of gloves with latex to increase the grip and cushioning, some legendary keepers have worn Reusch gloves during their careers: Toni Schumacher, Jean-Marie Pfaff, Hans van Breukelen, Peter Schmeichel, Claudio Taffarel, Gianluigi Buffon, Marcos Reis, Dida, Petr Cech and Julio Cesar to name just a few.
Over those years, Reusch have always had the philosophy to “make the best glove possible!” Comfort, fit and performance are three key words for the product designers when it comes to refining technical detail, introducing new technology and ensuring the product “fits like a glove”!
We look forward to crowning the new NLP Goalkeeper
of the Year in May.
