SURVIVAL STILL ON FOLLOWING COMEBACK

- By Carl Field

AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON live to fight another day after they produced a sensational comeback to beat fellow strugglers Aberystwyth Town 4-2. Defeat in this Conference group clash would have meant curtains for the Wingmakers and that reality was staring them in the face after goals from Geoff Kellaway and Mark Jones had put Aber 2-0 up.

Ryan Edwards began the fightback and three second half goals – from Edwards, Steve Tomassen and Jonny Spittle completed a memorable turnaround.

The defeat for Aber leaves them just a point above the bottom two, with Rhyl still in the drop zone along with Airbus after they were thumped 4-1 at Cefn Druids.

Ashley Ruane, twice, Mike Pritchard and Ellis Healing netted for the Druids with Steve Lewis grabbing a consolation.

Newtown and Llandudno meet today with both chasing top spot in the Conference group.

In the Championship group, already-crowned champions TNS crushed Cardiff Met 5-0.

Alex Darlington struck twice in the opening ten minutes to set the tone with Greg Draper adding a third and fourth with Adrian Cieslewicz rounding off the win.

Bala Town remain in the box seat for the automatic Europa League spot after their 2-1 victory at Bangor City.

Kieran Smith opened the scoring for Bala and, after Anthony Miley levelled, Smith struck again to secure all three points.

However, GAP Connah’s Quay are three points behind Bala with a game in hand after their 3-1 win at Carmarthen Town.

Ryan Wignall put the Nomads ahead with a cheeky back-heel finish before Kai Edwards doubled the lead seven minutes later.

Luke Cummings hit a superb strike to bring Carmarthen back into the game but Luke Short sealed the win for Connah’s Quay.
