NUNEATON 4 AFC FYLDE 1

AFC FYLDE saw their end-of-season blip stretch to a third game as the Coasters were blown away at the Coombe Abbey Arena.

After successive draws, the league leaders needed a win, but Nuneaton proved too good, running in four goals as they took all three points.

Boro came closest to opening the scoring early on when Billy Daniels sent in a fizzing shot from distance and watched it rebound off the post.

Daniels was pulling the strings for Nuneaton and on 27 minutes was in the right place at the right time to break the deadlock.

One became two when Kelvin Langmead directed his header past Fylde keeper Rhys Taylor to give the game a more reflective score.

Boro then added a third before the break, with Ashley Chambers doing the damage. He evaded a tackle inside the Fylde half before breaking free and slotting past Taylor.

Coasters substitute Bohan Dixon had been on the pitch a matter of minutes when he smashed home a halfvolley from outside the box on 66 minutes.

Fylde smelt blood and let loose the handbrake, but Boro held firm and had the last laugh as onloan youngster Devon Kelly-Evans capped off a stunning showing with a last-minute goal.
