BIG WIN FOR BIG SPENDERS
DULWICH H 0 BILLERICAY T 3
BILLERICAY underlined their promotion challenge with a comprehensive victory over play-off rivals Dulwich.
Goals from Adam Cunnington, Joe Ellul and record signing Jake Robinson within the first 30 minutes punished a Hamlet side playing their fourth game in eight days.
And the free-spending visitors were able to play out the final 30 minutes a man down without losing control.
Cunnington gave Billericay the lead on eight minutes, heading home from close range when Quade Taylor and keeper Preston Edwards hesitated in dealing with a high cross.
Ricay keeper Alan Julian made two smart saves as Hamlet retaliated briefly. But on 19 minutes Ellul headed in a long throw from Matt Johnson to make it 2-0.
And ten minutes later Robinson stooped low to head home Byron Lawrence’s cross.
Dulwich appealed in vain for a penalty when Matt Drage was barged over six yards out.
Hamlet were helped when Billericay’s Mekhi McLeod saw red on the hour. But despite plenty of possession, they couldn’t breach a solid defence.
Omar Koroma’s diving header netted Ashley Carew’s cross but he was denied by an offside flag.
