HARLOW dented Tonbridge Angels’ play-off hopes while keeping their own aspirations alive when they led almost from start to finish at Longmead.

The visitors took the lead after two minutes when an unmarked Ibrahim Sonko headed home via the underside of the crossbar.

Harlow might have doubled their lead on 20 minutes when Joe Benjamin was put through but his effort found the side netting.

Tonbridge started to come into the game with chances falling to Alex Akrofi on 30 minutes, his shot glazing the upright, and Nicky Wheeler two minutes later, his closerange shot being well held by Harlow keeper David Hughes.

Right on half-time, Sonko nearly repeated his earlier feat but this time his header against the bar rebounded to safety.

Tonbridge’s Mitchel Nelson went close with a header five minutes into the second half.

But Harlow made it 3-0 in the 34th minute when a halfcleared corner fell to Sonko to score his second.

The Hawks confirmed their triumph in the 84th minute when Fabian Simms scored Harlow’s third from another half-cleared corner.
