MARINE CLAIM A VITAL POINT

- By Gerry Lucas

CORBY T 0 MARINE 0

THE game finished level but it will be the visitors, Marine, who are happier having taken four points from Corby in the last week.

Corby created the early chances but both Jordan Crawford and then Giuseppe Iaciofano saw good efforts blocked by Paul Phillips in the visiting goal.

In reply for the visitors, Florian da Silva fired well wide from 20 yards when in a promising position.

Following this both sides struggled to mount a serious attack as both sets of defenders cancelled out each other’s attackers.

In Corby’s first attack of the second half a good cross by Crawford found Iaciofano, but his first time shot travelled wide of the target.

Just past the hour mark a mistake by Aaron Brown gave Peter Wylie a chance but Aiden Grant denied him with his body bravely diving at his feet.

A high shot by Courtney Wildin was straight at Phillips causing the keeper no problems.

Despite Corby enjoying the lion’s share of the play they simply could not find a way past the well organised visiting defence as both teams were forced to settle for a point each from the afternoon.
