BAKER’S STUNNER WINS IT FOR YATE

- By Joffy Chinnock

DIDCOT T 1 YATE T 2

YATE came from behind to defeat Didcot Town with the last kick of the game.

After a quiet first half, Didcot took the lead five minutes into the second period as Yate were unable to clear a cross.

George Reid capitalised for the hosts and fired home from close range to make it 1-0.

But with ten minutes remaining, the visitors got back on level terms as Didcot keeper Leigh Bedwell could not keep out Lewis Fogg’s powerful strike.

And with time running out and virtually the last kick of the game, Mike Baker's free-kick struck from an astonishing 60 yards out to beat Bedwell to hand the visitors the three points.
