SLOUGH TOWN 3 KING’S LYNN T 0

- By Matt Webb

SLOUGH TOWN continued their promotion push with a comfortable sixth straight home win against mid-table King’s Lynn Town.

In the reverse fixture in January, Lynn raced into a five-goal half-time lead, but there was no repeat at Arbour Park as the Rebels took an early lead.

Poor marking from the visitors allowed Chris Flood to head home at the far post from James Dobson’s free-kick on seven minutes.

The lead was doubled on 25 minutes when Simon Dunn side-footed in from Warren Harris’ low driven ball across goal.

Four minutes later, Flood appealed in vain for a goal after his header was cleared off the line.

Michael Clunan fired off target for the Linnets late in the first half, a rare sight of goal for the visitors.

Slough’s third came five minutes after the break and killed off the contest.

Dunn turned provider, playing Liam Enver-Marum through on goal, and the striker rounded visiting keeper Alex Street before slotting in.

The home side could have added further goals to their tally, with Lynn struggling to defend corner kicks. Flood got his head to a number of set pieces but was off target on each occasion.

Slough’s on-loan Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Shaun Rowley made his first meaningful save in stoppage time.
