LEAMINGTON

- By Paul Edwards

secured a play-off place, but their attempts to win were thwarted by a resilient Kings Langley side.

Xavi Comas was by far the busier goalkeeper, saving well from Courtney BakerRichardson’s volley before blocking Ahmed Obeng’s shot.

At the other end, Sam Tring saw his backheeled effort cleared away, but back the Brakes came with Comas again required to push a deflected shot from Obeng behind.

Callum Gittings’ long range piledriver rippled the side netting, while Richard Taundry crashed a free-kick against the angle of post and bar.

Ryan Plowright cleared Connor Gudger’s shot off the line early in the second half, with Stefan Moore also coming close from Leamington with a first time volley into the side-netting.

Ollie Cox saw Brakes stopper Tony Breeden parry his powerful strike before Comas saved again, this time pushing away Moore’s glancing header.

Sub Kieran Turner forced Breeden into a good save, but the pressure was all on the away goal late on, with Rob Thompson-Brown, Jamie Hood and James Mace all going close, while Plowright cleared Obeng’s shot off the line.

The visiting contingent celebrated wildly with their supporters at the final whistle, picking up what could be a valuable point in their battle to stay in the Premier Division. STAR MAN: Xavi Comas (Kings Langley) ENTERTAINMENT: ★★★★★
